Open engine, operated cloud

The trust model stays open. Cloud has to earn the operational work.

Use the Apache-2.0 SDK locally or self-host it. ContextDB Cloud is the operated service around the same decision model, with project isolation, credentials, console workflows, and governance direction.

ContextDB Cloud

  • Organization, project, environment, and key controls
  • Console for decisions, memories, usage, and request evidence
  • Governance and enterprise capabilities as they are built

The boundary

Cloud cannot hide a correctness fix.

The hosted service depends on the public SDK trust model. Fixes to trust math belong in the open engine and its evals. Cloud sells the work around running, isolating, observing, and governing it.

Choose based on the job

Self-host when control matters more than convenience.

Choose the SDK when

You want local or self-hosted operation, already run the required storage, and are comfortable owning credentials, isolation, observability, upgrades, and retention.

you operate the full stack

Consider Cloud when

You want the same decision model but prefer an operated control plane, project credentials, console visibility, and managed governance as those capabilities become available.
