Annual commitment
Commit for 12 months. Save two months.
For teams planning at least $10,000 of annual usage. Prepay ten months of the projected monthly amount for a non-cancellable 12-month term. Usage is still measured monthly.

- The first 1,000 profiles remain included each month. Paid usage draws down the commitment.

- Usage beyond the commitment is charged at the flexible monthly volume rate.

- Unused commitment expires at the end of the term and does not roll over.
What counts
Pay for people who use your agent.
If your product has 100,000 registered accounts but 5,000 people use its agent this month, pricing is based on 5,000 active profiles. The other 95,000 cost nothing.
- Active
- A person counts after their agent successfully remembers, recalls, checks an action, confirms a detail, or receives a memory update.
- Not active
- People who never use the agent, failed requests, deletions, test runs, and service traffic do not count.
- Counts once
- A person can call, chat, and return many times in the same month and still counts as one active profile.
Volume rates
The rate drops as usage grows.
The first 1,000 profiles are included. After that, each volume band gets its own lower rate. Crossing a threshold never makes earlier usage more expensive.

Questions about pricing.
Do I need a credit card?
No. The first 1,000 active profiles each month are free and no card is required. Billing is currently inactive, so usage above 1,000 appears as an estimate only. ContextDB will not activate paid billing without notice and explicit account setup.
Do I pay for a year upfront?
Not on flexible pricing. Flexible usage is measured and invoiced monthly. The optional 12-month commitment is prepaid and set up manually by agreement.
What is an active profile in ContextDB?
One person, identified by your stable user_id, who uses ContextDB during the month. The same ID counts once for that organization, even across many calls and chats.
Does the estimate include every registered user?
No. It includes only people whose agent actually used ContextDB that month. Dormant accounts do not count.
How is the monthly estimate calculated?
The first 1,000 active profiles are included. We price each monthly volume band separately and add the bands together. Paid usage starts at $0.50 for each profile active that month.
Can I use ContextDB without Cloud?
Yes. The local SDK does not require a ContextDB Cloud account. See the Open source page for the license and self-hosting boundary, then follow the quickstart.
