SDK available Cloud alpha View status

Pricing

Start open. Pay for operating the same trust model.

The SDK is free software, not a free tier. Hosted pricing will be published after shadow usage gives us defensible units. Until then, Cloud remains alpha and Production remains private beta.

The boundary

Cloud charges for operations, proof, and governance.

Correctness stays in the open SDK. Cloud should earn its price by operating isolation, credentials, observability, retention, and team controls around that same model.

Open SDK

  • Trust policy and decision model
  • Executable evals
  • Local and self-hosted operation
+

Cloud operations

  • Tenant and project isolation
  • Keys, console, and request evidence
  • Managed retention and governance direction

Product principle

Never price-gated.

The trust policy, act/ask/abstain model, confirmation semantics, PII-before-embed behavior, and deletion verification in the open SDK do not become weaker because a team pays less. A safety product cannot make the safe path an upsell.

The SDK is free software, not a free tier of ContextDB Cloud.

Questions

What buyers usually ask first.

Why is there no dollar price yet?

The hosted service is still collecting shadow usage data. Publishing a made-up unit before the service has real operating history would create false precision.

Can I use ContextDB without Cloud?

Yes. The Apache-2.0 SDK includes the trust model and evals, works offline, and does not require a ContextDB Cloud account.

Can I buy the Enterprise features listed here?

Not as shipped capabilities today. They remain planned and will only move into a sellable plan after implementation and support exist.

Start with the part that is available.

Run the open decision loop locally, then decide whether hosted operations matter.
